Vioxx, Bextra and Celebrex

Vioxx was recalled on September 30, 2004 by it's manufacturer because of a report released linking Vioxx to heart attacks and strokes.  Vioxx, prescribed to treat the pain and inflammation caused by arthritis, was one of the top 20 sold prescription drugs in the United States.  Since, the Vioxx recall, criticism has come out against all Cox-2 Inhibitors, including Bextra and Celebrex. Mesothelioma and Asbestos

Mesothelioma is a very rare form of cancer. It is a malignant neoplasm originating from pleural or peritoneal surfaces that is usually associated with occupational exposure to asbestos. Mesothelioma is a disease in which malignant cancer cells are found in the sac lining of the chest and lungs. The stage or severity of mesothelioma is difficult to diagnose, due to the great variability in the time before diagnosis and the rate of disease progression. Benzene is a dangerous environmental toxin used in the manufacture of plastics, detergents, pesticides, and other chemicals.
